HISTORY

Jewish history includes the narrative of the Jewish people from the Biblical period, until today. Much of Jewish history describes the various Jewish communities found within the diaspora (outside of Israel), and the struggles Jews experienced trying to integrate themselves in modern society while maintaining their Jewish identity. Jewish history also is inclusive of the history of Israel, especially in terms of its Biblical role until the Babylonian Exile, life in Judea during the Rabbinic period, and later, the formation of a Jewish State in 1948.
